What have you tested so far? Have you checked the CPU temps? Tested the RAM?

My money says power short, or power supply failure. If there are no temp issues and you aren't overclocked.

Often when a power supply is failing, or barely providing enough power it will work until it heats up, at which point it becomes less effective, your PC no longer gets enough power, and shuts down. When you attempt to start it back up, it is unable to provide enough power to boot it up until it cools down.

I was thinking that too but I wasn't sure if BFG PSs are any good, no personal experience with them. Your suggestions is good but I think checking the other things first since it is more likely one of them and knowing for sure that a PS is bad can be difficult to figure out.

Eh, It is really easy to find out assuming you have a second PSU. Don't even have to take the other one out of the case. Just plug in the 24 and 4 pin, and see if you get a bios screen.

I don't know anything about BFG PSUs either, but I believe that Best Buy sells them, so I would assume they aren't labeled for a higher wattage than they can handle.

I agree that it isn't hard, but most people don't have extra power supplies sitting around. Those cheap $10 (supposed) power supply testers are junk and uninformed people can take their results too seriously. Plus power supplies can be a pain, especially if you have a lot hooked up or have done a good job with cable management. I was mostly stating that most of the time you can not get a clear answer that a power supply is bad.
