Help overclocking an Athlon II X3 445

Thread Starter
Soooo, unlocking this guy didn't work out. :/
I tried all sorts of things, (ACC auto, HT Link Speed 1600, and boosting NB/CPU Voltages +.050/.100V)

I also tried the auto-OC, and even the V6(there is also V8,V12) which got it up to 3.4Ghz (from 3.1) BSOD'd windows.

I would like to try manual overclocking, but have little experience. Anyone want to help me out?

I know I need to boost the CPU multiplier, but the confusion starts when I need to boost voltages, adjust Ram multipliers, etc.

Good luck boosting the CPU multiplier on an Athlon X3 445 (locked multi ). You will need to overclock via FSB. Im sure there is a sticky around here you should read.

The Mushkin Silverline generic 1333 CL9 memory seems to be not a very good generic memory kit at all. Of all the people I know who've bought them, none have been able to get good results; in fact many of them had the certain IC that could OC to 1333 8-9-8... then that's it. No more.
Hate to say this but this RAM might seriously hold you back.

Dang. I had heard Mushkin was a good brand :/

Oh, btw, my Idle is 16C, load is 28C. This thing needs to be OC'd.
