New Sandy Bridge Computer

Thread Starter
Hey everyone,

Looking to buy my first "decent" computer. I'm moving from Netbooks/Laptops to a desktop because, quite frankly, they are not suiting what I'm starting to do. I've started to do a lot of video editing, animation and graphic design. At the moment I'm looking at this computer:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Intel-Core-i7...item45f85d484f

How good do you reckon that computer will be? I do game occasionally, I play games like Minecraft, Need for Speed, some FPS games but I have a PS3 for my real gaming. I will probably buy a 6870 or something later down the road, when I get more money.

Cheers,
General_Jaja

First off welcome.
now don't you think it will be better and probably cheaper for you to built one considering that you will probably have to change psu when you get your gfx card and who knows what type of space is there to got it. There is nothing better than to pick and choose what you have to buy based on your need.

Remember, no overclocking with no K series.
I see a lot wrong with that PC
1. No need for 550W unless video card is upgraded
2. Intel graphics only
3. Generic memory
4. No overclocking
5. It is pretty much a prebuilt

I don't game which is why I don't need a good gpu. I am also aware about the recall.

If anyone could suggest a good, affordable computer that fits my needs it would be greatly appreciated.

why not go for an AMD 6 core if you are on a budget??... get alt east one of those not so old 5750's a decent motherboard ?? DIY is the way to go... ask for a friend( who has experience) to help you out on the build

or configure your own from ibuypower or some company similar

I'm not a fan of AMD at all but I will still check out the computers. It also depends if they ship to Australia.
