OC question

Thread Starter
I'm just curious to know if your GPU driver crashing is a sign of instability of a GPU overclock. I'm currently in the process of pushing my Hawk over 900, but my NV Driver just crashed on Kombustor, so I'm wondering if its a sign of instability.

This is a Beta Driver, though, as the WHQL driver from before wouldn't install properly and whatnot.

Beta driver is not recommended if you are overclocking because it is meant for testing. Not a guaranteed driver for those who wants pure stability.

Driver crashing is a sign of instability. Adjust clocks or voltage.

Usually yes. I got problem too. Thinking that it maybe just be kind of bug that it doesn't actually heat much. But just got a certain limit where it crash. But as it crashes, you can't hope to get it further. Often happens in games that it just crash without even have hit 80 degrees (mine survives 90 in Kombuster so).

Usually aftermarket coolers solutes this problem.

Yea, the Hawk has an aftermarket cooler (sort of. In a sense at least)

My temps were @ 53C though, which isn't even remotely hot. I guess I could up the voltage. It's only at +25 on Afterburner. I don't even know how much that adds ... (+25mV?)
