Okay, so I'm doing this thing for my girlfriend on google docs. She volunteers for my university's vet club and the members go to cat colonies and observe and feed them. I have it set up so the members can enter in the date, duration, their name, station, observations. The info going to that sheet is titled form_input.
columns...
B - name
C - duration
D - date

I have another sheet titled date_chart which will serve as the code for a chart along with that spreadsheet. I have all of the dates going down the y-axis and I have all of the club members names going across the x-axis. How could I check the form_input sheet for whether or not a member was at any given place for any amount of time?

date_chart uses:
A - date
B-J for names(not all of the members, just the ones in charge of cat colonies)

I tried

if((form_input!B:B == B$1)&&(form_input!D == A:A), form_input!D, 0)

But there are obvious parts of that code that you just KNOW won't work. How would I search for whether or not a certain person visited on a certain date? I wish to fill out this chart and total up monthly totals per member.

Is there a way to set an index?

Thanks.
