Also one question... I got this set last month from Amazon and had a 25 Rebate. Now this deal came on newnegg with a 20 Rebate. Would the 1 product per house hold/Address not apply to me since it's 2 different rebates and bought them in differnt months?
I like Patriot for that they're generally good at stock speeds but I wouldn't really try overclocking them. As for rebates it doesn't hurt to try, and if you got a friend you can try getting them to do a rebate for you.

For Sandy Bridge builds you don't need more than 1600Mhz though it is considered the optimal speed to get. A 1333 set at the recommended 1.5v will do you well enough. In real world performance there is very little gain from moving from a 1333 to a 1600 to a 2133 set. But AFAIK the JEDEC specs for memory is rated at 1.5v 1333. Technically 1600Mhz is overclocked memory. It's the reason why you find a lot of 1333 sets because they're JEDEC standard and a bunch of 1600Mhz memory at 1.65v. But overclocking is not tied with memory speed anymore as the IMC is now on the CPU. You can use 1333 and overclock to 5.0Ghz if you wanted to. Most people are going to tell you not to get 8GB and that 4GB is enough for gaming (maybe enough for them), I think 6GB is enough but this isn't socket 1366, this is 1155 and we only get dual channel so you have to go 8GB if you want more than 4GB to run optimal. The most popular sets for Sandy Bridge is G. Skill Rip Jaws X or whatever they're called.

Awesome explanation thank you. So do you think sandy bridge will benefit a lot with tighter timing? What do you honestly think of the gskill cas 9 set vs the mushkin redline cas 7? Will I even notice any real world performance difference?

Looking at these two:

Can anyone tell me if the second pair is really worth the extra $50 I'd have to pay for it?

Are these any good for my rig? 1600mhz but Cas6.... Is it worth it to get 4gb of cas6 or 8gb of cas9?

I might just buy these for my rig. I've been looking for 6 more gigs for my rig for after effects CS5, and my mobo only supports 3 sticks. What do you Think?

I wont be overclocking

You'd probably be better off with this :

or maybe even this:

More expensive generics over performance memory?
Doesn't matter if it's OCZ, just...no. Git outta here.
And the Special Ops don't have as high a failure rate as most other OCZ RAM i.e. the gold

1.65V generics!? AVOID AT ALL COSTS, no matter what price.

Great deal: $34 after promo 1333 CL7 by Crucial (Micron ICs, oh baby!)

I have these and they are performing good. Havnt tried to overclock but hopefully I will soon. At least they work good at there rated specs.

I read they can do 8-9-8 1866Mhz pretty easily tho with 1.6v
