Im sure he knows that... its just what is he doing that is going to make getting an SSD necessary. I ran F3's in raid0 for 18 months and they are quick enough unless you have some desire to improve your load times by a second or two and never see a windows folder hang for 250ms again.

Plus c400's are coming out soon and they will be faster and cheaper than current due to nand shrink.

I think you should get a SSD, sell the 480 and buy a 580 ...

The SSD will be nuts, as hitching problems as well as load times are decreased tons, and it will provide a very noticeable boost to your experience. And as for the 580, you'll be able to overclock that till it bleeds.

And shoes... Not really worth it... They'll be busted within 8 months - year and a half

Watercooling FTW seconded, get a Rasa RX240 kit and a waterblock for the GTX480. You can get a 240mm radiator in the top of your case easily.

The difference from a C300 to a C400 would be a LOT less than RAID F3's to C300..

If you're honestly going to say that boot time is the only advantage of SSD then you're obviously inexperienced with the technology.
