I've heard that it melts it/fogs it up.

edit: I just poured some 100% acetone on extruded acrylic and it didn't seem to have any effect after leaving it for a few seconds

Yes. Nail polish remover is usually acetone. Acetone will dissolve acrylic. I believe you can use acetone to weld acrylic.

Why do you ask?

I have a custom engraved side window, I was going to fill the space with clear UV reactive nail polish, was just wondering if it was usable to clean up any spill over.

Since I don't really have an exact answer I'll take a dropper and put a drop on a section that isn't visible and see what happens.

I would carefully mask the area to avoid spill over up front.

You can use Acetone to glue sheets of Acryllic together, so that's an indication that it absolutely will dissolve Acryllic.

yeah, I wouldn't use acetone or isopropyl near an acrylic window.

(it may cause permanent fogging...if it doesn't eat through it first)

Took the chance, used cheap nail polish remover from walmart. Didn't do any damage and got the exact look I wanted lol
