ASUS P8P67 Pro Sound Issue

Thread Starter
New Build, fresh install, all drivers updated. 1204 bios. But I have no sound. When i plug my logitch speakers in, there is nothing. Same with headphones on front panel. I deleted and reinstalled drivers from asus, then did the same with drivers from realtek.

any suggestions?

Remove the Realtek drivers in Control Panel > Programs. Let Windows install the default Microsoft HD Audio driver and see if you get sound.

No, nvidia and realtek audio drivers won't conflict with each other. Just make sure you go on asus' site and download the latest drivers for your specific motherboard, don't download them from realtek.

Oh, and something that got me when I first installed my p67 board, did you plug it into the right audio jack? tongue.gif

The current Realtek audio drivers (2.57) work fine with the P8P boards. wink.gif

i tried both the asus drivers first, then uninstalled and tried the realtek ones. I also plugged in my speakers to every single audio jack (desperation).

sigh, looks like I'm up the creek on this one. would a separate sound card fix the issue? should I try to pull out HD audio from the mobo and go with AC 97?

Make sure the HD audio is on in the UEFI (integrated peripherals).

It could be that you have to exchange/RMA the board. You could disable HD Audio and use a sound card, that should work.

I also have this audio problem, have reinstalled drivers both from Asus and real tek none work. Let windows 7 find the driver, plugged the jack into all outputs but none work. The optitical output seems to be sending a signal, just don't have digitial speakers. I also have the very latest bios.

Thinking of getting a sound card what ones would work on the P8P67 pro m
mb. Have been getting so many problems with this type of Mb thinking of changing motherboards.

I have the same problem with my P8P67 Pro. It was working fine via the two digital outputs, suddenly started stuttering, and then pretty much stopped sending sound at all. At 96khz/24bit the ratio between sound and stutter is 1-99, and at 44/16 it is 80/20 (which is still useless of course). No sound at all via the analog ports. Have tried different drivers and reinstalled Windows. External soundcard works just fine (Asus Xonar D2).

Do you are using overclock ?, my hdmi sound doesn't work with overclock enabled (auto or manual). My vga is Geforce 9600gt (spdif cable), DVI >> HDMI Audio Out
