Quick Question on Case

Thread Starter
I've been thinking about building an HTPC. I have two HIS 5830s (sitting in their boxes...brand new) that I want to use in crossfire for this new build. Furthermore, I have an Corsair H50 for cooling a cpu.

My question is what type of case should I purchase that will accomodate two 5830s, a power supply to power the 5830s, and an H50 watercooling system?

Internal space is very important especially with two large video cards.

Thanks in advance.

There are tons of cases that will do that. What preferences do you have?

here you go

or do you want an HTPC style case, that might be hard.

Why would you want to run 2 powerful videocards in a HTPC? A single HD5830 already provides more then enough power for a HTPC.

Personally I really love the Antec Fusion black HTPC case, but it does not fit 2 videocards.

@ Andy,

Because I have two sitting around and would like to take advantage of both. As such, I could probably buy the Extreme Gene MoBo, an i5 cpu, and play games like Crysis on my 46" Sony Bravia XBR.

If you want to buy a 5830, then my build would be easier. This would allow for a larger selection of cases at my disposal.

To other posters, I prefer a desktop type case that will fit in my entertainment center.

Most Zallman, Silverstone, Lian Li cases house full size PCI cards will work.

You can check out nMedia as well, those are cheaper, tend to have sharp edges but look good.

IMHO Crossfire is overkill, unless it was two mid-range cards like HD5770's in which case to match a HD5850+ you need two. You mean Crysis is still having hardware issues that require spending at least a $100 on a video card option?

Is the game really that important to play? Not that I'm big on FPS, but that seems like too much trouble when there so many other games made by experienced game companies that know how to scale programs to work on many different systems.
