True, but it makes no sense to buy a card from the 5xxx series when the 69xx cards are out...get a single 6950 and, if need be, add another later.

No its not. The 6970 requires a 6pin and 8pin where as the 6950 requires ony 2 6 pin. The 6950's memory isnt rated to run at the same speed and from what I understand this may lead to unstable overclocks.

However stock would be fine

even a single OC'd 6870 should be a nice upgrade. you currently only have 512mb vram after all

6950 for sure, like previously stated you can flash the bios to a 6970 and save a lot of cheddar.

You're right about the pins; I had forgotten that. From the looks of things, though, there should be nothing wrong with running a 6950 @ 300+MHz over stock...

man i really have some good options here. Id get a single card as i stated earlier. how is the gtx570 vs the 6850 (flashed to 6870)

also i didnt think about this, but i have

I have an 850 watt BFG power supply. Do you think ill need to upgrade these if i do dual 6850's?
