No. Anything slower than a 9600GT is worthless for PhysX, and a 9800GX+/GTS250 or higher is recommended.

I did not have problem with 96 cores or 112 core 8800GTS/9800GT cards paired with 4890 which should be a tad faster than OP's card, I think it should do him good.

I only see benfits of 128 core of 9800GTX/GTS250 while moving to 5850/5870 which is significantly faster.
