New Build - Red Mem Light, Help Please!

Thread Starter
Hello. I am building a new rig, but am having a problem.
As you can see in my sig, I have installed 16gb of Corsair Vengeance RAM.
The problem is, when I turn the computer on, all the fans spin up, but the red Mem light comes on and is solid.

I have tried pressing the MemOK! button, and it flashes but after a while it goes back to being solid.
I have also tried switching the jumper for 5 seconds, then tried again for closer to 20 seconds, but it it still didn't work.

I also tried to only use 2 sticks of RAM, but that didn't work either.

I don't have any display on my monitor, and it certainly doesn't sound like it's booting any further.

Can someone please help me?

How long have you waited for it to boot? I would try 1 stick and alternate slots each time you power on to see if you can get to the bios.

Try this too: Push and hold the memok button and do not release it until it starts blinking.

EDIT: You did this. NM Darn!

Right, unfortunately it seems it's a fault with the motherboard. When I put any of the 4 sticks into slot 1, it boots. Any 2 sticks in slots 1 and 2, and it boots.

But if I put a stick in slot 3, it goes back to giving me a Red Mem Light, and won't boot.

So what do I do? I haven't been without a PC for more than a day before, even the wait today for the parts was interminable! (I dissasembled my old PC this morning).

Do I have to send it back before they'll ship me out a replacement? (this is Aria, I haven't used them before).

Don't go down that road yet. If you can get it to boot into the bios with 1 or 2 sticks, flash the bios.

Try 4 sticks again to see if that bios update works.

EDIT: Also read the details in the manual about the MemOk button. The process can take much longer than you might have waited.

I had updated the BIOS before I even installed windows, but hadn't tried the RAM again.I just did now, and am still getting the dreaded red light of dooooom. I tried the MemOK! button, and tried using the jumper to clear the CMOS, but no luck. I will try the MemOK! button again and leave it for longer this time, but it's not looking good

Read through your manual and ensure everything is correct, and the operation of MemOK! is being done correctly also.

Check the bios with 2 ram chips as this seems to be working, check in advance settings, also check to see what the clocks are at.

I have been through the manual and I cannot see anything hat I could have done wrong.
The BIOS sets the memory speed to 1333 default, but I have tried manually setting it to 1600 with no joy.

I also tried using the auto overclocking feature, which did automatically change the speed setting to just over 1600, but when I stuck the 2 other sticks of RAM in I get the exact same problem.

I have now rebuilt my old PC so I can get online easier.

This morning I tried removing one of the graphics cards, in case it was a power issue, but no change. I also tried removing the CMOS battery then using the reset jumper, but no luck with that either.
