yes it is high. get a vanilla GTX 580 and get a EK actete full cover block. for around 99$ less

Ask youself if the 200 extra is worth the waterblock+higher clock.
For a 100 yes, not for 200

You can definantly find different blocks. I would say get a reg 580gtx and go to frozencpu and see if they have a block for it...save yourself about 100 bucks.

Only worth it if you're worried about a warranty. Even if the PCB is visibly discolored from a leak, my understanding is that they'd cover it on a hydrocopper card.

So I ordered one, and I'm going to get a second one next month because I already spent enough this month..$700 water cooling set up, $350 ax1200 psu, and $800 for the 580 hydro copper

I've been close to getting one.. The difference between a vanilla + an EK block for example, is the higher stock clocks and their claimed binning.. You can also get the Hydro copper block separately on EVGA's site for 150 $ if you like the look.
