does gpu-z even give the name of the card? if not you probably need to clean the contacts and make sure its seated in there well

ALSO
i dont think the 9600gt has a standard 6-pin, so make sure to use the 2 molex> card adapter that came with it

Cards have had the standard 6 pin PCIe since the geforce 6800's..

i have one and IIRC it has a 6-pin, but it didn't look right to me when i look last, it look like it only had 5 pins, ill check later

Heh.....I asked her to look inside and apparently the cards power connector fell out. I should of also mentioned I did this via Webcam but I could have sworn it was in.

Thanks guys! Sometimes the stupidest of things you can't prevent.
