yea lga2011 its looking like it will eat sandy alive by having the northbridge on the cpu and pcie 3.0 by the early specs their wont be anything to stand up to it and it will have quad channel memory support also.

LGA 2011, also known as Socket R, is an unreleased Intel CPU socket. This socket is set to supersede Intel's LGA 1366 (Socket B) in the high-end and performance desktop market areas[1]. This socket will have 2011 protruding pins which touch contact points on the underside of the processor.

Socket 2011 uses QPI to connect the CPU to either additional CPUs in a dual socket system, or to add-in chipsets. The CPU will handle northbridge functions, such as memory control, PCIe control, DMI, FDI, and other functions integrated on chip.

This socket is expected to be released alongside Sandy Bridge-EX in Q3 2011, and will support 4 memory channels as well as 40× PCIe 3.0 lanes;[2] the socket will measure 58.5mm x 51mm, and is backwards compatible with LGA 1366 cooling solutions.[3]

That's not stable. Stable is having prime95 running 24/7 until the next generation of sockets is released. At the very least. You can't be sure you're stable otherwise.

This is the lowest I've managed for 4.0 1.016v:
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1647362

In reality, when it's at load, it is this:

I'd love to see real proof of it doing 4.0 under 1.0v at full load, with HT ON?

What he posted so far was at 3.8, not 4.0 as the title of the thread suggests.

I will play with my low voltage OC later to see how low I can get @ 3.8. Of course it would have to be stable, and not just post into windows and not even complete a single Linx run.

lol wut?

lga 2011 will see sandy bridge chips first.

NB is/has been on the chip for a long time...

Quad channel is a gimmick, just like tri-channel was... Just like how DDR3 1333 cas 9 performs almost exactly the same as ddr3 2133 cas 9 on current sandy bridge cpus.

1155 doesn't have PCIx 3.0, in name... However it does have its bandwidth.

Not with i7's as far as I recall, not on mine anyhow. Only place to find the batch is the sticker on the box, iirc.

I know SKI, and he is a good guy, he was actually playing L4D2 for an hour and a half with me and a few others at these volts earlier. I highly doubt he is lying, why would he?

With the amount of trolls coming through here lately, people are naturally skeptical of these things. His chip is probably capable of it, but he needs to provide proper proof, ya know?

The 920 I currently have and the 930 I've had previously both had it on the heatspreader as well, so I'd guess yours does actually have the batch number on the CPU itself also. Either that or Intel forgot when making yours
