Need help for 4.2ghz

My system : i5 750 / 2x2gig Corsair XMS3 / Asus P7P55D Deluxe / TT Frio / ATI 5750
(its in my sig)


Are these settings ok for daily use, or should I go for 4.2Ghz ?

If I m to go for 4.2, which settings will be good to start ?
Currently is :

190x21
vcore offset .12500
vcore 1.32
PLL : 1.8
IMC : 1.18
vDIMM : 1.55
ICH : auto

Speedstep enabled, loadline cali enabled
Spreadspec and all other crap disabled

Hey ya,

well nice work, however with your machine going past 70c on prime I would leave it as it is

Just an FYI, you'll get more responses if you put your CPU model in the thread title, or at least in the first few words of your post (so that it appears in hover text.)

EDIT: What the above poster stated is definitely correct. No need to run your CPU any hotter than that.

Edited first post, sry bout that. thought the sig was sufficient.

So 80c would be too much then ? Would still be 19c below throttlepoint...
And for daily use I'd never hit those temps.

Personally, I'd never let my i7 get past 70 -75 on brutal testing, but that's just me.

Besides, you'd not really notice the 200Mhz increase.

And thats why you are stuck at 3.8... Your computer will NEVER reach those temps doing regular activities so no worries..

4.0 it stays then.thanx

Should I turn to my ram now ? its 1333 rated but only runs at 1040 now. If I up the divider it runs at 1400, but can't get that stable. Any tips?

Actually, i'm happy with 3.8 and it does all the work it needs to. I'll be going for 4.2 when I get my custom loop in there :-p

So any tips for ocing my ram ? i see u have the same xms3 with an asus board.
