forced to hit enter to launch win 7?!?

Thread Starter
just installed win 7 ultimate 64-bit on my new ssd. Everything is finally running fine except for one thing....after i get past my bios and everything. a black screen comes up and forces me to hit enter to launch windows 7.

there are other options available, but i would like for it to just boot into windows without needing my input.

it looks something like this on the page

Windows 7
Windows Setup ( EMS Enabled )

A timer that counts down from 30....29.....28.....

and an option at the bottom for windows memory tools.

Anyway to bypass this step and have windows boot right away?

Kinda defeats the purpose of having an OS ssd if you have to hit enter on the screen.

Thanks

Fixed on the last post. Also disabling the boot logo gui will help for faster start ups.

MSCONFIG, Boot tab, then remove the extra option that appears in Window so that there is only one Windows boot option.

My guess is that there is more than one Win7 option, when it should look like this:

They said "EasyBCD " will remove it. Or try this:
go to Run type "msconfig" go to boot tab and delete it from the box in that tab

I have the same exact problem.

It's because you had an older hard drive with an existing OS connected to your mobo during your Win 7 install.

The only option is to reinstall Windows 7 with no other disks connected to the computer. I'm too lazy to reinstall everything at the moment, so I'll just wait until the new C400/Vertex3 SSDs come out before I reinstall.

Also, don't try to remove the old HDD with the old OS from your system as you will not be able to boot at all. I already tried that. The windows repair doesn't fix the problem either.

Mine only ever did that if I had to manually power down, and sometimes after crash/bsod.

if your computer pops up with multiple startup entries, it means there are multiple entries in the boot.ini equivalent for vista/7. If you go to msconfig as mentioned earlier you will see multiple entries there. Remove the excess entry for setup and you will be good to go.

This occurs because when the OS was installed, it didn't complete properly and as such the entry was never removed. guarantee it. Do this at work everyday

Didn't work in my case. There is still only 1 OS that shows up in the boot menu. Only option is to reinstall Windows with no other disks connected.
