The PC team was merely 7 guys working on fixing everything, while porting the engine over to PC. They had a monumental task. While Battlefield 3 is seeing the entire team focus on the PC version, and they have even said that the team is double the entire team that worked on bad company 2, console + PC included.
People complaining about hitreg, the problem is the servers. Some of the server providers arent up to the task and are overloading their systems. As the hit detection between different servers can be pretty immense. Its as simple as seeing it and changing to a different server. Very rarely if ever do i have any hit detection problems, pretty much only when i dont play on one of my usual hang outs. Considering i can regularly kill people in a handful of bullets regardless of the gun, i am pretty sure my hits are registering fine. Alot of people are foolish in the fact that they fire bullets until they see text they got the kill, by that time, they have already fired 5-6 or more bullets than they needed. Pay attention to how many bullets you fire instead of looking for the visual confirmation and you will be a step closer to getting 4-5 kills per clip.
So im inclined to disregard anything you say because you havent done your homework.
So you're telling me that the entire BC2 team didn't even test the game on Nvidia cards? Even if it's not technically their fault, that's still far from encouraging in terms of their ability to get things done. How about the dozens of other very minor but extremely easy fixes that could be made to the game? From stupid things like floating ACOG chevrons to non-existent reload animations, this game definitely doesn't feel like it was tested at all.
And yes, it's sad that there was only a small team working on the game - it's a damn shame really, especially since I really do feel that there was some huge potential in the game that just didn't pan out. But the fact that they still released the game in that state, left it in that sorry state for such a long time, and in some cases, still haven't fixed things turns me off to any future releases the same company puts out. Am I not going to buy the game ever? Of course not, unless it's as broken as Bad Company 2 and remains that way. Am I going to pre-order it now having complete faith in DICE as a company? Fat chance. I'm waiting for reviews on this one, pure and simple.
As for hitreg problems, I rarely even use automatic weapons. You're more likely to see me running around with a slug-loaded shotgun than anything else. Hit reg is still far too hit or miss even on the same server, where sometimes a single slug to the head does the job, then five minutes later a slug to the head (including the headshot hit sound), then one to the body still doesn't take care of it. Sometimes the person will even still be above 50% health on the killcam. Some servers do seem better than others, but I have yet to find one that feels truly satisfactory.
