I own BC2 and i have to disagree.

As far as ports go, it is a nice one.

I wish every game studio felt the same way.

Wow I'm almost shocked. But this is awesome. Now they need to make sure it won't have those annoying bugs that BC2 had.

BC2 had flaws because DICE did not assume it would do well at all, so they focused more on consoles.
I can forgive a buggy launch.

Certain reload animations broken? Check.
MG36 reticule absent in hardcore mode? Check.
Glitch that locks down the firing key on all weapons on spawn? Check.
Floating ACOG sights on certain weapons? Check.
Lag so bad that you can fire a rocket, watch it speed away, then die and have it not register a hit even on a building, all while you're running at less than 100 ping? Check.

Game wasn't just broken at launch, it's still broken. Broken at launch, I can forgive. Broken a year later while a semi-sequel is about to be released? Definitely doesn't inspire confidence.

Good luck getting any acknowledgment of those issues here. As far as the fanboys are concerned, if their rig/client installation didn't have issues (that they noticed), any glitches or flaws must be the fault of the less intelligent users.

I kind of figured as much, which is why I've only replied to each of them once.

Bad Company 2 had a whole hell of a lot of potential. If it ran properly and relatively bug-free, it would be a superb game, although I still feel that teams should be scrambled when a map rotates automatically. I honestly hope that Battlefield 3 blows me away and gives us one hell of a great game. I am not however going to get my hopes way up and start pre-ordering before we've even seen in-game footage. I like what DICE is saying they're trying to do, but I've been burned too many times by too many different devs to trust them implicitly to the point that I pre-order a game.

Last time i checked, this was a Battlefield 3 thread.

Take your complaints about the console focused off-shoot to the official thread.

The BF3 team is twice as large as the BC2 team, and it has more than 7 guys working on the PC version.

Dice has always had a rocky time getting their games patched up, which is unfortunate. That said, no other dev makes games like DICE and i'm proud to support them rather than throw money at Kotick or Ubisoft.
