Noise: MCP-650 vs MCP-655

Thread Starter
I currently have the old MCP-650 pump and it is too loud for my taste. Is the MCP-655 notably quieter? I think i read the MCP-355 is quieter, but I'd rather get the 655 as it would be the same configuration as the 650 I already have.

Yes. It is much quieter. I originally bought the 650 and couldn't stand the noise. I can't even hear my 655. You will be much happier.

I've always heard that the 650 is very loud. I can't here either of my 655 or the 355.

If I turn down all the fans on my PC it's dead quiet, the pump makes practically no noise.

Perhaps the only noise you'd get would be from vibrations.

If mounted and decoupled properly the D5s are about as quiet as they come, and if not to your liking, the vario provides an easy means to go even lower.

Subjectively I think the D5s are quieter than the DDC series, but planning to do some tests around this soon.

The 650s(D4) were known for their obnoxious noise, the newer 655(D5) is completely different for the good.

+1 for the MCP655, these things are so damn quiet. Have one in my system, only things I can hear are the fans.
