It seems that something has affected your Windows activation. Have you recently changed out any hardware or installed any new software (e.g. SP1)?

Go to Control Panel -> System, and check your Windows activation. If it shows it as not activated, click on the link to activate it.

If for some reason, Windows licensing components have become damaged, you can download a fix from Microsoft...

well basically all i did was install windows then upgrade it to professional since my disc is for home edition. then i activated windows but i did actually install 4870x2 to test it and then it failed. then i reinstalled my 5770 and redid the drivers for that too. so maybe that is causing it, but i have already tried activating it again and then i get this message a couple hours later. i will download this hot fix and see what happens!

Typically windows activation only complains when you change your Mobo, most other hardware (including CPU) shouldn't cause it to complain.

Just a note from MS:

"After installing Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional Edition onto a computer, officially it’s impossible for user to convert, or upgrade from Windows XP Home to Pro edition, or downgrade from Windows XP Professional to Home edition without reformatting and reinstalling the operating system from clean and fresh state."

Might be why, might have to look into some hacks to trick windows into being happy again. If you're comfy with that, the article I took that snippet from might do the trick
