He's not too keen on using the money though, he's leaning more towards the 6870 atm, I have no idea if there will be any difference, even with the 6870 overclocked.
Seems like my brother joined the discussion biggrin.gif

Actually, the real AMD opponent to the GTX560 is not the HD6870 but the HD6970 1GB.

For bonus, both can do 3-monitor setup but the GTX560 can also do Physx too.

So, I would rather take a pair of the GTX560 Ti.
Ok, everyone seems to agree that the 560 are better. Think that's what we're going for then. Thanks!

To throw a slight dissenting opinion into the mix, for most everything you throw at these things, crossfire'd 6870 and SLI'd 560s you won't actually *see* any difference.

To boot, I'm not sure where you're shopping but there are currently deals going on where XFire'd 6870s can be had for $360, while SLI'd 560s cost around $500 last I checked.

So, yes, 560 certainly seems to outperform 6870s, but they are certainly not the same priced cards.

Buy a pair of factory OC'd GTX 560s?

yes, the dual 560s are better, but at current prices (2/20/11) it is a tough call.
on new egg you can snag a 6870 for $215/$195 with rebate + free shipping. You can get a factory OC'd 560 for $257 (incl. shipping). In dual gpu mode this starts really adding up. This now becomes a comparison of a $390 setup vs a $514 setup. And when you take that into account, I think the 6870 CF is a clear winner. But the prices will continue to change. The real question should not be "which is better", but "how much better".
But if you dont care about price, go ahead, get GTX 580s in triple SLI and call it a day.

Hey guys, what will be better choice/faster with my setup - GTX 560 Ti or HD 6870? I also will run only single card and with stock frequency.

The GTX560 is about 10% faster(average) than the HD6870 both at stock, however the 6870 can be picked up around 20 bucks cheaper. Cant really go wrong with either card, its nearly brand preference.
