ATI 5770 + Crysis 2

Thread Starter
I built my rig this past December, new to PC gaming, and I want to know what level my GPU will be able to play Crysis 2 on. I know there isn't a demo or official specifications, but I'm looking to be able to play Crysis 2 at max settings. Do you think it will be possible with my GPU or no? If not, what card SHOULD I get that would allow me to?

It wont max it out, it can play it though.

I'd get a 6950/70 or a GTX 480/570/580...

Probably not at 1080p. But who knows... Crytek is saying it won't be nearly as demanding on the hardware this time around.

Crysis 2 will be less taxing on hardware.
I suppose you'll be able to run it on somewhat higher settings but still get playable frames.

Ur 5770 is really going to perform weak in crysis 2 , get urself a 6950/70 or gtx570 .

Ur not going to be playing at 1080p with high settings , maybe at 10fps ... dont believe anything else . I used to own a 5770 and the jump to my flashed 6950 was huge in crysis .

I don't think so, get a 6950 and unlock it to 6970.

I dont think you will need to upgrade.
You should have perfectly playable FPS at medium settings.
If you want to go high then you will need to get something with a 256bit memory channel and better overall performance. But a 5770 is still a respectable card. Especially if you crossfire them.

Basing it off of Crysis isn't really a good comparison. Crysis was programmed horribly.

Your 5770 will play the game just fine. It'll be on the higher end of the graphics.

Obviously upgrading would be nice. I used a 5770, and I went for the 6970. I consider it to have been a bit of a splurge, since I could've waited for the 7000-series in 6-10 months (however long it takes).

At a guess I would say medium. 5770 isn't really designed for 1080p though, if you are prepared to lower your res to 1600x1050 then it should be playable on medium
