120mm for intake

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

Just looking for some ideas on what the best fans are these days. I looked around but a lot of them seem to favor silent fans even at less flow. I'm looking for fans that aren't too loud but they don't have to be silent. I need some power to them because that's all I get for intake.

I have a silverstone 120mm for exhaust which works real good but I want black fans for the front.

Scythe makes very good fans that are silent and create a lot of static pressure.

I would suggest

They are kind of pricy but as you can see from the review these fans are very good.

Fixed.
Good fans, use a fan controller one them, and you'll be a happy kitten. They are really loud at 5400RPM

That they are, but you don't have to run them at 5400 RPM =p.

pretty good noise wise at lower RPMS and still great coolers.

Room for a 38mm wide instead of a 25mm wide? If so I would def go that route. Otherwise a couple Yate H12s wouldnt be too loud at all.

In recent years, one trend for fans is to favour silence over airflow. Another trend is to be more colourful (with leds or uv).
So, choices for good black fans are getting smaller.

I suggest Scythe Slip Stream:

The fixed speed 1600rpm with 88CFM @33dbA (SY1225SL12H) might suit your needs.

They also come in with PWM, adjustable PWM and PWM+VR versions.

SLipstreams are good exhausts and that's about it imo.
