For $20 more the 470 is the better deal, at stock it beats the 5850 and 5870 in a good deal of games but also they gain more from overclocking than the 5XXX cards do. The only reason the 5850 is getting so much attention now is because its in the ATI thread. Look at the bench scores I posted above. Tell me HOW is the 5850 better?
The 470 is better because it's up against a stock 5850. If you listened to what I said, this being the THIRD TIME NOW, that the 5850 was at 5870 clocks and voltages DUE TO A BIOS FLASH then I'd like to see what a 5870 is compared to a 470. I owned one a while back and had it overclocked to the level of a 480. I know what it can do, however, a 5870 is better than the 470, hands down, in DX9 and DX10 at STOCK. Due to the same number of ROPs on the card, the Pixel Fillrate is going to be the same and the reason why the Texture fillrate is different is due to the card having only 1440 shaders rather than 1600.
I would appreciate it if a recent review could be posted so I can ensure that I get the best performance for the dollar. As for the warranty, the refurb 470 has a 90-day manufacturer's warranty and that's it. The 5850's warranty is voided due to the card's apparent bios flash. I asked the person to keep the flash so I really don't mind that. It's in immaculate condition so I could care less.
I posted this in the ATI section because I figured that I'd get a few more opinions on the ATI side. Apparently I was very mistaken and the Nvidia person above is upset at me?
