Hey guys,

I am planning on making a few upgrades and fairly minor adjustments to my sig rig. I have decided to keep the beauty of the CM 690 II Advanced and just accent it with a window and some LED and UV Blue lighting. It is a really simple modification, however it may take a while because there are a few steps to this project. The first thing is selling my parts which are just sitting there, or that I want to swap out on a Chinese version of Ebay called Taobao. The prices that I have chosen reflect the median price points at which these products are selling for on the site, so then I still get a decent profit, but it doesn't take forever to sell (and believe me... I know, some of the pricing is whacked on this site...)
  • AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition ~$180
  • Asus M4A79XTD Evo ~$85
  • Asus Radeon HD 5850 ~$350
  • Colorful GeForce GTS 450 ~$145
  • MSI GeForce 7600GS ~$30
  • Cooler Master GX 750W ~$115
  • Cooler Master Silent Pro 600W ~$100

Then after collecting the money made, I will then buy the materials that I need from Taobao...
  • Razer Morays ~$10
  • Antec TruePower New 750W ~$120
  • HIS Radeon HD 6950 2GB ~$330
  • 3 x Lian-Li 140mm Red/Blue LED Fans ~$20
  • Swiftech MCRES Rev.2 ~$30
  • Thermochill EC6 UV Blue ~$25
  • Tygon R-3603 (Will a 3/8" ID fit on the Corsair H50 barbs?) ~$10
  • Matte Black Bitspower Compression Fittings (need to see if the OD of the tubing is 1/2" or 5/8" before I purchase the fittings) ~$15

Then I need to get the following from Old Shekou (an area about 2 min walk from my apartment, which has a bucket load of hardware stores)
  • Funnel
  • Cut up the side panel, where the window is going
  • Get a clear sheet of acrylic that is 1" longer on each of the 4 sides than the cut out section of my side panel

Then after that I need to get the following items from a computer market which is approximately a 20 min bus ride away...
  • Replacement for my failed WD 320GB HDD
  • 2 x UV Cold Cathodes

After I have gathered all my materials, I can get to work. First would be the side panel window and to do this, I will take the panel and the acrylic to school and hot glue to acrylic to the internal side of the side panel. Then I will mod my Corsair H50 by replacing the tubing with clear tygon, replacing the liquid with UV Blue and by adding the reservoir into the loop. After that, it is just some basic assembling... I will document each of my steps as I do them with visual aids to match, so... STAY TUNED!!!

Also... I really need a new completed Corsair H50 mounting system set... Does anyone know how I could obtain one? You may be asking yourself why I need a new one, and the answer to that is I lost my Intel mounting set, as well as butchering some of the screws and brackets which came with it, and then I watched videos on how to mount it properly ...

I now have all of my products in their original products ready for sale on Taobao!!!

I also have my side window marked up with masking tape. I have made it so then you can see my whole motherboard, and nothing else.

By the way... I apologize if the quality of the images are not the best, because I have taken them with my Nokia N96 due to the fact that the Cannon EOS 450D is at my Mum's work...

This is all I have done as of now, before I can do ANYTHING I need to sell my items, which means I also need to open a bank account, open access to online banking and create a credit card.

I have decided to change my mind a little...

I am going to continue to do the same thing that I was going to, however I am going to keep my 5850, and not purchase a 6950, and then buy a Corsair AX 750W instead of the Antec TP 750W.

Hey bro, it is late here in USA have full specs in the future. I just purchased a stack of WD Caviar 6GB/s 32MB Cache to setup RAID 5. After registering I read on WD that we require the Enterprise editions in order to rebuild data for redundancy. Now my mobos Raid controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10. What I would like to discuss is is there a WD proprietary module in the drive to enable the RAID 5 or will the mobo take charge. The way I see it is , a HDD is an HDD and if our mobo will run the show then really " do we need Enterprise Editions?" If interested my email is et to accept. Later on,

I should be getting my computer up today ... However, it won't have the side window, cool fans or modded UV H50 in it yet ... So the specs will look a little something like this...
  • Intel Core i5-2300
  • AsRock P67 Pro3
  • Team Elite 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3/1600
  • Asus Radeon HD 5850
  • Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio
  • G.Skill Pheonix Pro 60GB
  • 4 x Western Digital Caviar Blue 320GB
  • LG GH22NS50
  • Cooler Master GX 750W
  • Cooler Master 690 II
  • Razer Abyssus
  • Razer Arcosta
  • Dell E198WFP
  • Somic EV-62

Thus, I still need to do/get some things...

H50 Mod:
  • Swiftech MCRES Rev. 2
  • Tygon R-3603
  • Feser One Acid Green
  • 2 x UV Cold Cathodes
  • H50 Mounting System
Fans:
  • 2 x Scythe Gentle Typhoons 1450RPM
  • 4 x Scythe S-Flex
Razer Morays
