Id give it another year or so I wager. If the 25nm from Intel truly cuts the drive costs in half then we might see $1 per GB from Intel. It seems Intel is more set to get the people who are like myself, want a SSD but need 160GB+ drives that wont break the bank. Since the G3 specs show that of the Vertex 2 line it tells me that perhaps we might see a 160GB SSD for $200-220 from them. My money is after the "hype" the costs will drop to the range of a $1 per GB. Then again this might just be hopeful thinking on my end ^-^

Then again Intel might surprise us and skip SATA2 and go straight to SATA3 drives. I have heard very little hype about the G3 drives this month and they are suppose to be released sometime soon.

Be careful buying these new 25n Sandforce controlled drives as they're slower and more unreliable compared to the old 32n drives. Read the reviews at the Egg or anywhere you trust their reviews.
Right now if your planning on buying a SSD I'd look for a old 32n Sandforce drive somewhere or get the Crucial C300 as it's still 32n.
