The amount of new devices that will be officially announced next week at Mobile World Congress will be impressive. Samsung, Sony Ericsson, HTC plus many more will be outlining their strategy for the coming year. Leaks have occurred over the past couple months, most notably is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. UK-based Expansys has taken it upon themselves to post complete specs of a few unannounced devices: HTC Desire HD2, Samsung Galaxy S 2, HTC Desire 2, and the HTC Wildfire. In summary, we’ll be seeing an onslaught of 4.3-inch touchscreen device that are packing dual-core 1.2GHz processors, NFC capabilities, 5 and 8 megapixel camera that either shoot 720p or 1080p HD videos. Check out all the expected (an unconfirmed) specs after the break…

No hummingbird next gen for Samsung? 1080P video only for the Galaxy 2 and Desire HD2. After looking, I'm hardly blown away but curious to see SAMOLED Plus and if Android can properly use the dual core goodness

Too many different phones of the same caliber in my opinion. No point in HTC/Motorola/Samsung producing any phone other than the EVO/MyTouch, Droid X/Droid 2, and Nexus S/Galaxy S when they're perfect as they are. Bring on dual cores.

Why would the Samsung put a far less powerful gpu in the Galaxy S 2 (i9100)?

The PowerVR SGX 540 found in Galaxy S devices is far more powerful than an Adreno 205.

Update: Expansys just pinged us with a statement claiming that "the alleged leaks of information are nothing more than speculatively populated product holding pages, created and designed for internal use only...we do not have full details of the specific products mentioned." However, the company is still "investigating how this information has entered the public domain." With so many inconsistencies in the published specs (Qualcomm processor in a Samsung device, only 512MB of RAM across the board, questionable CPU/GPU pairings), there's a pretty good chance that the etailer is on the level here; that being said, if these are not in fact the final specs of these devices, we suspect that they'll end up being very, very close.
I guess mods can delete this thread then.

the dual core snapdragon uses the adreno 220 gpu.
why they would put a last gen gpu in a next gen phone is completely stupid.
