Problem with core speed

Thread Starter
Hi, i have a problem.

I have an AMD Phenom II X4 955 processor and it doesnt have stability at all.
Its core speed is always changing. At first it is 800 mhz, then i just move my mouse and it becomes 3200 (maximum), then it lowers to 2100 and then finally back to 800.

Why does it react so hardly?

PC Specs

Code:
Operating System
MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
CPU
AMD Phenom II X4 95545 °C
Deneb 45nm Technology
RAM
6.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 401MHz (5-5-5-18) <<< Wrong, right is 800 MHz
Motherboard
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. GA-MA785GM-US2H (Socket M2)
Graphics
Philips 200W (1680x1050@60Hz)
ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series (ATI)50 °C
Hard Drives
977GB Seagate ST31000528AS ATA Device (SATA)33 °C
Optical Drives
LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1S ATA Device
VIFYL 12RWP6R0 SCSI CdRom Device
Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio
// These temperatures were at the moment of copying specs.

Any help is welcome!

That is normal. It uses CoolNQuiet to reduce the multiplier and clocks to conserve power.

RAM clocks are also correct. It is Dual-Data Rate (DDR)... so it does two operations per clock. It runs at 400MHz but effectively performs at 800MHz.
Once again...

That's just CnQ changing your CPU speed. It clocks down your CPU when you're not using it. It's not a stability problem.

Also your RAM is 400 MHz.

That would be amd's equivalent to speed step (cool and quiet)?. Its meant to lower your cpu speed/vcore to save power. You can turn this off in the bios.

EDIT:- Not that quick on my phone.

Is that idle temp? 45 on idle is pretty high. You're using DDR2 therefore the memory its showing there is right i.e. 401x2 is roughly equal to 800MHz.

About the clocks, just turn off all power saving features in BIOS. The BIOS reduces voltages and clocks in idle to reduce power consumption.

It is the lowest temp i had, it is between 50-57.
It could be problem with cooling? I have a box cooler, do i have to buy a custom cooler?

You'll need an aftermarket cooler only if you plan on overclocking.
