You won't get any extra CPU performance as they're neck and neck on a per'clock basis...

And your current CPU doesn't run 64Bit? How old is it

Hard to say that any C2Q doesn't support 64-bit but could be wrong.
I agree, But I believe if its a C2Q @ 2.4ghz it should be the 8200 (2.33ghz) which support 64 Bit.

I know it, but if i want to see the CPU, i need to put together all parts, i am using other PC

But i am pretty sure it is Q6600. It always had 32bit system on it. Maybe i am wrong, i will try to install 64 later

Are you sure it doesn't support 64Bit? Use a 64 Bit OS. From the sounds of things, it looks like you've got a Q6600, which is an extremely good overclocker, often reaching speeds of above 4GHz, around OCN.

Also, the Phenom II processor that you have is almost equal to the Q9550 anyway. Why would you want to sell most of your system for a processor that might not work with your board?

EDIT: All Core2 series processors are 64Bit.

A Q6600 is without a doubt 64 bit capable, I mean, yes it is, concrete hard facts no ifs ands or buts about it.

I just threw some mock systems together on a PSU calculator.

The Phenom II 955 rig had a minimum power needed as 315w

The Q6600 rig had a minimum of 299w

So you're doing all this for 16w worth of power savings. Not to mention, I'm doubting the Q6600 will clock as high as your 955, the statement that most get to 4ghz is wrong. And those wattages are at stock settings, you'll have to OC the Q6600 just to get up to the 955, which means you may already use more wattage with it just getting it up to the 955 stock performance.

I really think you're barking up a fruitless tree with this endeavor.

I wont OC it, i dont have a good cooling system. I hardly got to deal with my parts and my case is being cooled very badly. If i will get something like BigWater or H70 in the future, i will think about overclocking
