hmmm, just thinking out aloud - no haters plz
Activision publich a new COD game every 12 months, and each game costs $89.95 new. Now if they move to pay-to-play, as long as the monthly payments are $7.50/month or less, there is really no difference in cost to those who only ever played the game for <12 months before upgrading to the next COD release.
It could also be a much cheaper option for those who played the game for only a few months before they got bored and never played it again - you could pay for a few months and then end your subscription and move to a different game and possibly spend less money on those few months of pay-to-play COD then if you had to spend the full $89.95 for the game and keep it.
This only works if the game is given away free (like wow) and you only have to pay <$7.50/month to play.
If you actually have to pay for the game as well as the monthly pay-to-play fee, then you definitely lose out.
Now, I'm in no way supporting this method of gaming, I'm just saying it COULD (and that's a BIG could) end up costing less depending on the game cost and the monthly fee charged to play the game.
Saying all that, I hope to god that this finally kills off COD and everyone moves on to other games - COD is ruining online gaming and online gaming will never progress while COD has the support of all the fanbois.
