[ZDNet] The Future Of... Credit Cards [video] - Page 2

I know that I will probably get flamed for this but I still use cash whenever possible. I don't like the idea of everything being digital. I fear the day when cash is eliminated and everything is digital.

I still do not even own a credit card. I only use debit. I'm one of those crazy people who lives within my means and saves up for things before hand instead of paying ridiculous interest on it afterwards...

No flame at all here, but I feel you would really do a good thing for yourself if you establish credit. If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Not for the sake of bashing you, just so I can explain how much a good credit score would effect your future.

Even a tiny credit card with like a $250 limit will bump your credit ratings up over the years. Having a decent credit score is better than having no credit at all. If you have no credit at all, I fear for the day you shop for a car, or a house, or even just to rent an apartment. You'll get horrible interest rates on your loans. Many apartment complexes are now requiring decent credit scores for new tenants; I went through it myself and am about to once more in July when I move.

I loose my wallet more than my phone so this probably might be a good thing for me.

SIM cards can be traced very accurately, but certainly not if the phone is off, GTech. There MAY BE some higher grade SIM cards that store a bit of power of their own but I don't think those are mainstream.

I'm 28. I have a credit score. I have bought and paid off my car, paid student loans etc.

Oh ok good then, scratch what I said. If you have a credit score of about 700 or more you're set.
