Honestly with a locked multi CPU and perhaps intent to overclock you would be a lot better with getting something that is not generic. Otherwise you could be held back.

I think the better combo would be to spend on the Crucial RAM and get this Athlon II x3 450 + Biostar A880G+ combo so you still save ~$15 via combos(remember: unlocking should be a bonus, not a requirement)

They have a DIY kit on newegg for about $300. I even tried to just do a quick AMD build (an HTPC zacate build with an Asus motherboard with the onboard Zacate) and the board itself was half the price. Then the PSU was around $100-$150 which left me little to no money for a graphics card (not really needed), RAM, and a HDD.

That RAM is okay, though for $5 less I'd get this RAM. Don't be fooled by 1.65V rating, apparently I've heard stories of this kit hitting 1600 CL8 undervolted to 1.5V so it overclocks around as well as the Ripjaws.

I put one together with recommended parts but its only 250. What could I improve?
