Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro? - Page 2

How about the Sigma 105mm 2.8? It's supposed to have less fringing, according to the reviews, and faster AF.

Yes, that's a popular lens as well. And when doing macro shots, most people use MF anyway, so AF speed is less of concern (except when using it as a regular prime).

Plus, there's the Sigma QC issue as well, but I can't comment how much of an issue that is these days (a lot of Sigma lens owners seem to convince themselves that they have focus issues).

I find that guy in the video slightly annoying.

The Sigma would certainly be cheaper on average.
(Sigma 105mm macro $480 vs Canon 100mm EF $570)
Actually, for the price, you might also look at the Sigma 150mm
(the non-os is about $700) and there is the 180mm macro also.

Just to muddy the waters, looks like the Tamron 180mm has a $50 MIR for a final price about $640. A little slower at f/3.5, but a nice telephoto.
(the 90mm macro also has the MIR for a $400 final price tag)

I think that's the same guy who broke the 300L lens which was turned into a coffee cup.
