SirJamesDTech - In Win Dragon Rider Full Tower Case Unboxing - Page 2

I haven't really gotten to installing anything in the case yet.
My point on the airflow is when there's only a few exhaust fans, if there's an absolute overabundance of air rushing in then the heatsinks don't get the opportunity to properly transfer the heat. Diminishing returns.

Could you site your source? Seriously, not trying to start an argument. Antec, in the Lanboy Air, suggests using all the fans as intakes. Granted, that case has a lot of mesh to allow exhaust, but there is some method to that madness. In my FANQUA I have the top, front, and side fans as intake, and only the H50 P/P as exhaust. I get rather cool temps, especially on the GPU.

I was under the impression that positive pressure in the case was a good thing...?

It's merely been my personal experience. I've attempted the windtunnel effect on a different case, the Dragon Slayer, and ended up getting diminishing returns.
It could be that there's got to be a right balance of exhaust/intake, but that was my own experience which I base my opinion after.

The diminishing returns are probably the limits of the heatsinks to transfer the heat from the board, through the sink to the air. With enough positive pressure, you could probably run those megas passively.

James, thats cool man, if anyone's personal experience should be taken into account, yours would be one. That being said, I don't think the Dragon Slayer is the best for wind tunnel airflow...the open space is just not enough.

Excellent point, allikat!
Thanks, Mike I really appreciate that
Speaking of wind tunnels, I'd absolutely love to get my hands on one of those Mountain Mods cases...I greatly admire their work

I think the airflow on one of the singlewide cases would be great for a tunnel (Danger Den as well)...the doubles are perfect for making a windtunnel for your rads
