I face palmed a couple of times at the XFX comments, all reference cards are the same quality and components. The cards are designed by ati and then made by foxconn (pretty sure)

lol, the xfx bandwagon has been sure fun to see.

remember when they first stepped in with ati? every fanboy raved about them even though 80% of them never owned an xfx card.

now, every non-xfx owner of a graphics card talks crap about them ever since that one dude here got denied an xfx warranty. 80% of them never rma'd an xfx card too.

They don't unlock.

Non-ref is actually a pcb design by AMD, by AMD! It disables the unlocking and changes the vrm design and uses a pcb similar if not exact to the 6870.

The card coincidentally in the first post isn't a revised, aka non-ref design. It's a reference design that was modified to use the typical TI Drmos vrms(as used in non-ref design by AMD) with the reference dual bios, but Powercolor f'd it up and the cards didn't all unlock, lol.
