I also just read your other post (I think...) about the 5850 being a beast for high ppd/watt so that's probably what I'll toss into it.
Might be worth noting that there some great deals to be found on eBay if you're patient. I picked up a second 5870 for £130 - and I've seen them go for less. I'm also running a big underclock on the memory, so even running the core at 900Mhz leaves me room to undervolt the card to 1050mV. Power draw is 220W from the wall whole running a single 5870 and my 1055T at ful tilt. Ppd is around 250k if I get enough work through, and could probably be higher if the new version of CCC allowed you to downclock the memory further. I'm sure there's room to run at 1Ghz core 24/7.

The reason our team puts out a low avg. is that a lot of people (including myself) have f@h running on NVIDIA cards and 8-threaded CPUs. It will take time before we have more activity. We have come a long way in the past 6 months.

I will be putting out 350k/day soon...

Anyways. I've just found out some amazing news, that the Gigabyte E350 miniITX mobo is capable of a 2.36Ghz OC. Couple that with a 6970 and you should have a low power beast.

For the record though, I'm probably going to toss in a 4870 into that rig or maybe an 5850. Also, one of the projects that I'm crunching for doesn't have GPGPU capabilities so the Xeon appears to be one of the better pieces of hardware you can run on it (well either that or the 980X or a 2600K or whatever).
FYI any of the e350 mobos out from any board maker will be limited to X4 on the pci-e slot even though it is a x16 slot because the chips are intergrated with only 4 pcie lanes. couple that with low clock speeds and only 64 bit memory lane and even overclocked it will choke the **** out of any gpu above entry level discrete. just so ya know....

As I mentioned in the other thread, you'd be better to use the Asus E35MI-I Deluxe as it is stated as having a true 16x PCIE slot
