Am I pipelining my 4850?

Thread Starter
CPU: Intel core2duo 7300
RAM: 667 1X2 gig ram
GFX: AMD 4850
HHD: 7200.12 320gb seagate

yeah, its an odd setup but runs DiRT2, crysis and farcry2 well enough (40fps+)

Would I gain much of an increase in performance if upgraded (I know HHD is the best for every day tasks) other components?

Cheers

EDIT: I mean bottle necking not pipe lining. My mistake.

By pipelining I assume you mean bottlenecking, you probably will see an increase if you upgrade to a new 6k series card and a new cpu.

EDIT: AMD core2duo does not exist, intel makes the Core2 series

Well how do you have an "AMD core2duo 7300"?

I'd upgrade your processor and RAM first probably but for if your just looking for gaming performance I'd upgrade the card.

Its pretty obvious its a typo. You could try upgrading your RAM.

Is this a pre-built PC or did you make it yourself? If pre-built, please read the make and model off the case somewhere so we can get a better idea of your system.

To be honest upgrading your ram wont show you a huge gain and I would say its not worth it. The biggest thing you could do is to overclock your CPU from 2.66Ghz to something a bit more. Even 3.0Ghz should show you an increase.

I would leave your PC hardware wise, as is, and begin to save up for a new system over the next several months. By the time you have enough the new processors would be out from both AMD and Intel and you might just be getting 5-10 times the PC you currently have for a decent price.
