The SROM is basically the BIOS/Firmware of the sensor. The Avago 9500 found in the Xai differs from the Avago 9500 found in the G9x/G500 since they load different step up values.
Logitech mice = 200-5700 in 100 step increments.
Xai = Up to 5001/5040 in increments of 90. All other CPI values are interpolated by the MCU or "brain" of the mouse.
Anyway, It pretty much boils down to preference in this situation.
If you really want the G9x, go for it. There's a 3 year warranty and if anything goes wrong they'll cover you without hesitation.Edited by Skylit - 2/12/11 at 12:28am
