EK Res starting to crack! - Page 2

There's always iandh and FrozenQ if you want a reservoir.

That's what I'd personally go for other than an EK res.

The Frozen Q res selection is on the left of the page.

Did you use an additive? They may freak on you.

Even though the most likely cause is garbage extruded acrylic instead of cell formed.

Thread Starter
I contacted EK and they're sending me a new tube. We'll see I guess! I have all EK stuff and they're support was good for this incident so I'm going to stick with them for now...
Here's a tricky question: would you say that this problem is prevalent enough to steer clear of EK tube reservoirs?

I'm interested to know what the failure rate is on these things, or at least if anyone has an idea if it's common enough to want to avoid their tube reservoirs.

Its not only EK, my Swiftech top too cracked last night running for a week or so only..
But the EK res would have metal base and not the fittings in the acrylic part like the Swiftech's Top...I just wanted to buy an EK res too...oh no.. what re you recommend which is not bay mounted?

I filled up my EK Res so the water level just disappeared under the top cap (Still enough air there). I ran my computer for a few hours, turned it off, and water immediately seepd through the top threading and dribbled down the side. The bottom cap is fine and watertight, but the top cap is not. The only solution was dropping the level again.

same to me as well, i fill it up to the top, let it run, open cap, add more and more until its full, close cap and due to the small opening some water comes out on the top (gap to let air out I assume)....hmmm interesting
