First time CPU overclocking AMD 925 questions - Page 2

Interesting... if you can get to 300 ref clock or close you can then run 1600Mhz RAM (you can lower multipliers of everything else to compensate)

So I got my cpu up to 3570 MHZ @ 1.4 volts. Which put my ram at 680 MHZ, my NB at 2550 MHZ, and my HT link at I think 2040 MHZ.

I noticed though that during one of my games I run if I attempt to stream it at the 3570 MHZ setting it seems to actually have worst performance then it does at 3360 MHZ. At 3500 and 3570 MHZ it seems to have lag spikes in game if I am streaming with Adobe Flash Media encoder live. When I do the same thing at 3360 MHZ it runs fine.

So I am wondering does that mean the overclock was unstable? My Cpu was not getting above 46 degrees Celsius so I am unsure why this might be happening. Could it be the voltages since they are set on auto? Could my northbridge or HT link have been to high?

Basically I'm wondering if you overclock to far (possibly not having right voltages since they are auto) if you could actually get worst performance while not actually crashing.
