Thread Starter
Hello Everyone Just Was hoping for some input.

I have a ATI 4850 videocard. Runs great on my 19" Wide LCD.

Videocard: Sapphire HD4850 512MB
Monitor: LG 19" Wide 2ms DVI/VGA Inputs

Most Games Run At medium settings 40-60 Fps. 1440x900 Resolution.

I have some Gift cards to newegg and want to upgrade but can only afford one item.

My Price range is about $200.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated.

For $200 I would say a monitor. Though for the new games headed our way this year (Caveat: Supposedly anyways) you'll wants a better vid card. For $200 you can expect to find a good valued 23-24" LCD LED monitor or you could snag a GTX 470.

The vid card will be needed before too long, and the monitor can always be put off. So it's really your personal preference. Do you want to be able to see a much nicer image at lower frame rates or the opposite?

With what you posted about games, I revise my opinion and promote a vid card.

I'd go for a monitor upgrade too. Preferably a 16:9 one. (1920x1080) I'd also get a 22" widescreen.

I'd spare 100 more dollars and buy atleast a 24 inch monitor. It is not about size, it is about resolution.

First Off Sorry To Bring Up A Old Post, Just Wanted To Say Thanx For All The Help,
Managed to Get A few More $
So I decided To Go With:

Asus MS238 23.5" 1080p 16:9 = $100 (Sale)

And:

Sapphire 5850 Xtreme 1G = $145 (newegg.ca)

They Go Pretty Good Together, Fluked Out On The Monitor. And The 5850 Beats The 6850 In Price And Most Benchmarks.

Thanks Everyone, Happy Person Right Here.
