We're five pages in, and pretty much everyone with experience with them is saying it's legit. How did you miss that? Honest question.

I think i'll stick with going to the store and buy an actual physical cd. I'd rather have a copy of a CD retail since i have the original Crysis and Warhead on cd physically speaking also. I would NEVER trust that website at ALL.

This is a legitimate site. I've used them for L4D2. However, Steam does not condone sites like these, and even censors g2play.net on their forums. The codes that g2play.net sell are not directly from Steam and therefore no profits go to Valve.

That's actually not true at all ... Here is how a common place distribution system works for PC Games.

Wholesale / Distributor buys X amount of games from publisher (Valve), they pay Valve X amount of money at a very cheap price. The price depends on the region, so in lower income countries, the distributor might only pay Valve a few dollars per game instead of $10 - $20 like other higher income countries.

Next, resellers ( such as these key sites ) apply via their corporation or LLC to these distributors to obtain the games at a lower than retail price in order to make money.

Steam is nothing more than a digital distribution platform. You can go to EB Games and buy L4D2 for example, Valve at this point makes less money yes because of all the costs of retail store chain distribution, opposed to digital distribution where the profit is much higher.
