2.695 Ghz (245fsb x11)@ 1.4125V vcore is as far as i could go (atleast boot an OS and run Orthos for 20mins) with my current cooling atm (stock 4 lyfe), hopefully will get some better cooler at monday, because temps are ridiculously high ~55-56 C on fully load
i wont even bother runing serious prime95 atm, as im sure it wouldnt be able to pass even an hour with those settings, i think i need like 1.5v vcore to be able to stable run my system and maybe even get to 3Ghz
anyways thx for the tips guys
btw whats the dangerous voltage for ddr2 memory anyway?

Your chip is safe to 65*C under load. So no worries there. Keep it as low as possible obviously...but its technically safe up to that point.

And no, you won't need 1.50v. You shouldn't need that much even for 3.0GHz. Not with a Windsor.

DDR2, it varies on what the sticks are. Some die around 2.1v, some will take abuse up to 2.5v. Yours are 1.80v stock, I wouldn't push more than say 2.0v through them. Mine are 2.30v stock....I won't push more than 2.35v through mine.

thanx for clearing that out for me mate, your info really helps!
how do you know what chip can take what temps, you know from experience? maybe you know a good source where i could read about that?

Unfortunately, that kind of information is now buried so far into this forum, I wouldn't even know how far back to dig.

I know this, because up until August of 2010, I had a K8 dual core. Mine was a Denmark core (Opteron, Socket 939), but it is identical in every way shape and form to your Windsor. Just a DDR1 memory controller instead of DDR2 like yours has.

The K8 architecture didn't change one bit from Socket 754 up to Socket AM2 .
