Wow, very cool. This convinced my brother not to upgrade to an x6 for his uses yet. He's currently using a 720BE at 3.5 ghz for just home use and light gaming.

Great tests OP! +rep

Makes me think twice about upgrading to a 1090t or any x6 for the matter when I need one.

Also makes me kind of wish I ordered a x3 720 off the forums here instead of getting a 555BE xD

Rep made me reconsider buying the 1090T. Any advantages or disadvanteage runnind at a 3 vs 4 core? Mainly gaming it takes me the same voltage for either and can't get it past 3.6.

Nice OP.

... and TBH, a $60 Athlon x3 425 isn't that far behind in terms of performance, and can be OCed to around that level (3.5) as well.

I really like my x6 1055t; but my time with my x3s (Jul '09-Jul '10, one x3 425 & two x3 720BEs) had me drooling over their strength vs higher-cost setups.

GTAIV looks like it responds really really well to more threads and overclocking.

I also love the AMD tri-cores. They're a perfect mix for most people.
