[Build Log] x1

Thread Starter
So here I will officially update my build log for my system, nicknamed x1. Should be done in about a week so feel free to stick around and follow the thread! smile.gif

I'm sure when it comes time to hit the power button, it won't go on and you can all get your laughs, haha.

So today, my final piece of artwork has arrived (other than the sleeving that won't be here until Tuesday). Here, ladies and gentlemen, I display to you the recently released Case Labs MAGNUM M8, as seen here: http://www.overclock.net/case-labs/907778-new-m8-pics-jan-5th.html

The box:

A box inside the box:

Okay at this point I thought Jim was just messing with me. But then I lifted:

180091_523268345608_172701061_30949773_1017529_n.jpg

Yay!

Honestly, the best packing job I've ever seen from anything or any place. This thing was more well packaged than my Dell monitor. That says a lot considering the monitor has internals that are critical to it's success. Not saying this isn't, but damn it's built like a racehorse.

Where is the LIKE button when you ACTUALLY need it?!?! (Also am I one of the few that will understand why the nickname is x1? - I am to assume is has to do with you getting the first production M8 right?)

Great pictures, I am glad to see the various angles -the XL window looks VERY nice btw, is that one smoke or clear?

Also in case people skimmed the first post - these are in production and shipping now from Case Labs. http://www.overclock.net/case-labs/939034-magnum-m8-m10-now-shipping.html

They also have a nice 15% discount for Overclock.net members if purchased by March 31st!

Long time lurker, this build seems worthy of my first post. The case looks amazing, fully looking forward to your build and experiences with the case. Subbed!

The window is the XL. I'm not sure how Case Labs refers to it but when I ordered it I believe it was called gray tint. It looks a lot darker in my room than it really is simply because I have a black carpet. I'm glad I went for the tinted, though!

Haha the reason it's called x1 has nothing to do with being the first one (although it is! biggrin.gif). I use xyeLz as my name and take the first initial (obviously x, lol). Then I added a 1 to represent my first build, so I guess it does have to do with being a first, but not the first case.

Thanks for all those who subbed biggrin.gif. I will be updating periodically throughout the week with multiple pictures. I might include my EVGA waterblock build in this thread in the near future just to consolidate. smile.gif

Thanks all! Looking to take some more pictures tonight once I can figure out how to get these feet on! Haha.

Looks as if you could since the Case Labs guys said they used standard mounting patterns for the screw holes - I remember he stated you would just have to mount the PSU in the upper PSU slot instead.

Well, there are technically enough areas to mount 6:

2 on the top, 2 on the PSU side, 2 on the bottom.

Though then you wouldn't have enough room for a PSU and I don't know why you would want that many radiators anyways. tongue.gif

But yeah, you can comfortably fit 3, easily fit 4. It's just beautiful. Case Labs did a FANTASTIC job.

More pictures in about 30 minutes. cool.gif
