Help needed overclocking Phenom ll X2 550

Thread Starter
Title pretty much says it all. I haven't done much overclocking in my time and i figured i might as well get around to learning all this stuff so i won't have to make posts like this in the future

I recently picked up the Asus Crosshair Formula 4 mobo a couple weeks ago. I bought it because my older motherboard had some pretty awful vdroop and vdrop issues.

Anyways, now with that out of the way lets get down to buisness.

For the past week i haven't really touched much of the settings in the BIOS except the multiplier . Currently its running at 3.8Ghz. (19x200) at 1.442V.

Im not really sure were to start if i want to go higher then 3.8.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Currently these are what the settings look like in my BIOS.

CPU Ration = 19x
CPU Bus Freq = 200
PCI Freq = 100
DRam Freq = 1600
CPU NB Freq = Auto
HT Link Speed = Auto
CPU Volt = 1.442V
CPU NB Volt = 1.111V
DRam Voltage = 1,554v

I think those are most of the important settings when it comes to overclocking. Im just slightly overwhelmed by them and not sure which ones to tweak first and how much i should tweak them.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Have you tried unlocking it to a quad?

You may be at the point with a 550 where going higher than 3.8 will require serious Vcore additions and you might hit the heat wall. That is usually where the 955s and 965s start to require Vcore.
