What do YOU think of my idea?

Hi folks, put this in the intel section as i;d be doing intel builds

Basically my idea was to buy parts from say ccl or overclockers.co.uk, then list on ebay the parts as a complete build and try make profit on the systems. I noticed while back some stupidly high prices for some systems and I thought I could build better...

Do we think its a good idea if I can build enough of a difference between the price of parts and final result selling price? Obvioulsy id have to look and see hiow much say an i7 930 build costs, and then put my price just below that and try make profit?

thought please?

I would love to hear from other people who possibly make money from this?

selling on ebay sucks

~3% paypal fee, ~9% ebay final sale fee, + initial listing fees

so you're losing at least 12% on every sale

i used to resell on ebay a long time ago, when it was something like 3%, but now it's not worth it unless your profit margain is high enough to eat the fees

this. the only way you could make any real profit would be to have your own website

The 9% fee can only go up to $50 though.

for instance check out this pc:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/INTEL-I7-930-1...item5d2af815ff

£750, I just built myself a BETTER spec one on overclockers for £650...thats £100 difference right there, surely the fees wouldnt take away that whole profit?

But if you look at it he has not sold any of the systems yet, selling on ebay is risky, first as already said, ebay will take a %, plus there's a chance that the builds you built wont sell, and you will have to realist them, this taking more % of your cash.

Your website wouldn't cost much.. You're main issue with building a site is getting proper advertising.. You can spend hours every day trying to promote/ manage your advertisements (some sites offer free advertising and some are pay per click and some get a cut of the sales they link to your site)

Building a website isn't too hard with all the software out there (most of it free).

But my plan was to list a system, once someone buys that system quickly purchase the items, do the build then send it off for shipping.
