So try with 9-10-9-24 ?

Yep. Try 9-10-9-24 and set command rate to 2t. If that does not work run Memtest86+, it is not a BIOS function just a program you install on a boot disk and it runs memory oriented tests to show you if one of your sticks is bad or not.

Ok small victory ^^

I've put my memory on 9-10-9-24 and command rate 2t.

And then the only thing I did is BLCK @140.

And it started !! tongue.gif

CPU now @ 2.8 instead of 2.6

So the memory is fine is my first guess now.

And we are @3.2Ghz tongue.gif

4Ghz here we come ^^

It's passing the IBT everytime.

I'm happy that worked for you. Don't double post tho, the moderator will come and get ya =P.

You can just edit your post and add more stuff to it hehe

Later on tho, after you are fully stable, try with stock timings (9-9-9-24) and just put command rate to 2t, that might work also.

The reason why I say this is because my G.skill 1600 9-9-9-24 2t is stable at 1.5v (dram voltage) but if I switch it to 1t I need 1.6v (dram voltage), the small small performance gain does not justify the big increase in voltage.

Ok thnx.

I'm gonna overclock my CPU to 4Ghz tomorrow ^^
Maybe I can squeeze 4.1 or 4.2 stable out of it.

I've got a custom watercooling - more ? tongue.gif

sowwy about the doublepost ^^ thought it was on page 2-3.

Some motherboards will run and overclock with 8GB RAM just fine at the same timings/volts they use for 4GB. Like my Gigabyte GA-P35 DS3R.

My Asus P5Q Pro Turbo on the other hand... It was hell to overclock with 4x2GB. No matter what timing or what other setting I tried, I never could get it rock stable with 8GB RAM and a reasonable overclock. Tried two different 8GB kits. It overclocked very good with 2x2GB though.

My solution was to buy 2x1GB of the same brand and use 2x2GB + 2x1GB, for a total of 6GB's. And it overclocks very well with 6GB. And 6GB is plenty.. Even 4GB is enough, it was just I could not forget my 8GB, so had to compensate my loss somehow...

Glad to hear it worked out for you OP, even if you had to relax a few timings...
